Weed culture has become more than mainstream in today’s rap game. With big names like Wiz Khalifa, Juicy J and Spaceghostpurrp being thrown around, no one seems to have encapsulated it as well as up-and-coming rap artist Jon 0h!, on his latest track “Lil Higher”. I am truly impressed in the song’s ability to take audiences on a wild trip down to downtown NYC, letting it’s expertly crafted lyrics, catching smooth flow and perfectly orchestrated instrumental of contrasting, yet complimentary trap, soul and jazz influences serves as guides towards a satisfying psychedelic experience that leaves listeners impressed. All in all, Jon 0h shows himself to be a definite candidate for some attention from the mainstream music community, and “Lil Higher” takes him that much closer to it.
