We’d like to know more about the mysterious Kendrick experiment, Baby Keem
We’ve heard a lot about Baby Keem since his meteoric rise via the hit single Orange Soda. Despite being shrouded in mystery, he’s managed to appear on the Black Panther soundtrack, along with projects by Jay Rock and Schoolboy Q. Some argue that none of this would be possible without his mentor, and (Maybe family member?) Kendrick Lamar. While we’re unsure of the Baby Keem Kendrick Lamar cousin conspiracy theories, we would like to say that for now, all the hype remains exactly that: hype. His early tracks like Hooligan and Honest are solid, but we have a feeling a lot more is in store.
Will we get a Baby Keem sighting on Kendrick Lamar’s new album? Perhaps. Kendrick seems to believe in the kid a lot, even pushing his latest singles through pgLang, his joint venture with former TDE co-president Dave Free. While he hasn’t exactly shown separation from say, our list of upcoming rappers as of yet, we trust the vision and taste of Kdot. Whether it’s a family thing between the two or not, we’re gonna keep our ears to the street for what he does next. We wouldn’t be surprised if Kendrick’s investment pays off real soon.
