RIP Hammerin Hank

Hank Aaron & Home Runs. The two have been so synonymous, for so long that it’s hard to think of one without immediately thinking of the other. But while hammerin hank & homers  will always be linked, the long time great stood for so much more.“I remember many times as a little boy growing up that the Ku Klux Klan would come marching down the street, for no reason at all,” Hank Aaron said in a 2010 MLB Network interview. “My mother would tell me, ‘Son, go hide under the bed.’ The KKK would march by, burn a cross and go on about their business and then my mother would say, ‘You can come out now.'”Despite coming up amongst deep rooted racism in the south, and eventually  receiving hate mail and death threats as he approached Babe Ruth’s homer record, Hank Aaron pressed on.
