Presh impresses in his debut with the relaxing Lofi track “Escape”

The promising music artist creates a vibe with this one

A campfire crackles into the night sky, serving as a place of comfort and warmth for a man alone. As piano chords and hand placed percussion creep in, a similar warm feeling exudes from the music itself. This is the backdrop for Presh’s debut song “Escape”, a relaxing, Lofi track complemented with hand drawn visuals. Perhaps equally as important as the artistic qualities of the song, is what it represents for Presh. The aptly named track helped him escape a feeling of self doubt and allowed him to share his art with the world.

“My solution with this project was to simply ignore monetization”

The song’s beauty is found in its simplicity, which is exactly what Presh was going for. “After a few years of creating, travelling through different inspirations, picking up various skills and tools within music, I came to a point in my process where I was overwhelmed by my visions.” He says. “There’s definitely such a thing as having too many tools, too many options, and too big of a vision; it’s prevented me from working on many projects and demotivated me from pursuing art in general.”

He approached this project as “Gardening, not architecture”, prioritizing the imperfect perfections of the creative process. As opposed to piecing together a long thought out vision, he went with the natural flow of creativity, allowing the work to take on a life of it’s own. The result is a Lofi aesthetic that can be equal parts relaxing, nostalgic or comfortable for listeners. More importantly, it serves as a major step forward for it’s creator. “My solution with this project was to simply ignore monetization,” He says. “Accept that I’m not aiming to profit from this project; rather to simply share/express, hopefully connect with digital artists through this piece since it’s an awesome medium that’s new to me, and hopefully create a virtual space for people to feel warm, cozy, and comfortable with themselves and their thoughts/feelings like it does for me “
