STOP SLEEPING ON THESE TWO
In the turbo charged hype machine that is NYC Hoops, there somehow always manages to be at least one or two hoopers from the five boroughs that slip under the radar. For one reason or another, these players are usually lightly recruited and eventually explode onto the college scene. For Justin Wright Foreman and Kyle Allman, this is exactly the case. The two guards were arguably the coldest backcourt in NYC by their senior years, but very few high major programs made the voyage HS For Construction to check them out. As a result, they headed to mid majors, and much to the horror of opposing teams, they’re looking for revenge.
While both players started their careers relatively slow, they’ve each found their stride and began to score the ball at a high rate, whilst making their team better in the process. Allman came to Construction from St Johns Prep and helped lead the squad to a 14-2 record and a Queens title. He took his talents to California and signed to CS Fullerton where he now leads his team in scoring at almost 19 a game. His most recent performance? A 40 ball in a win at Hawaii where he shot a hyper efficient 16 for 19 from the field and 5 for 6 from three.
Wright Foreman headed to Hofstra where he’s proven to be one of the most exciting acts in all of college basketball. He was recently named by Sports Illustrated as one of the best pure scorers in college hoops and his 25 ppg is good for third in the country. The 6’1 guard has shown a cerebral ability to score on all three levels of the court and in the paint, finish well above the rim. After averaging just one point a game as a freshman and becoming the nations most improved player as a sophomore, he continues to improve dramatically each year. As march comes around we’ll keep an eye on both of these studs going forward. One thing’s for certain: As seniors they’ll only get meaner.
