Quelly & Hazeus: New Age Outlaws

The newest collective out of Brooklyn

While the country remains divided by classism, racism and its newest president, many have taken a rebellious stance in the millennial generation. With this defiant spirit radiating throughout the youth, Quelly, Hazeu$ and the New Age Outlaws (N.A.O) have hit the scene and given a voice to the young, the wild and the disobedient. “This is the perfect time/era to be an outlaw, and we just trying to give out that all around badass feeling when listening to our music,” Says Hazeu$. The movement is still in it’s beginning stages but the groups members believe that their reckless sound and image will soon catch on and the youth will follow suit.IMG_4791

The way in which Hazeu$ and Quelly met was quite trippy, in a literal sense. “I met Quelly over facebook,” Says Hazeu$. “He had inboxed me for some LSD I was selling at the time and it just so happened that me and my niggas was gonna trip on acid that same day.” So Quelly and his bro decided to trip with us.” Quelly and Hazeu$ began bonding under the influence of the psychedelics, and eventually plotting on how they could build together. “Quelly read my mind when he brought up us joining the group,” Hazeu$ says. “It was funny to me because he had been saying everything I had been thinking for the past couple days.” The newfound chemistry between the two can now be exhibited in their latest collaboration, entitled “Unlawful.”IMG_4792      While Hazeus says he draws his inspiration from the world around him, Quelly has a different and quite humbling motivating factor. At age 15, he lost his mother to cancer which fueled his passion and drive to be great. In tribute to his mother, he plans to drop his first LP “4ever Tiffany” in the near future. As for Hazeus, the feeling of being on the rise with his N.A.O brothers will do for now. “I’m just having fun with it and making music with the niggas i’m finna build this empire with,” He says. “So i guess the most rewarding thing would have to be what the future holds.”IG: @kamekamehazeus, @_unlawful
