Please stop jumping with Jalen Lecque

The fastest rising player in the country………literally

One hard dribble left. Cut back right. Plant with two feet and treat the rim like it owes you money. If this AAU season has taught the basketball world anything at all, it’s that jumping with Jalen Lecque will lead to an immediate and brutal baptism. The bouncy NYC guard is exploding on the EYBL circuit with a combination of speed, skill and yes, that signature bounce. His exploits have been buzzing on social media as of late and every new game seems to come with a brand new victim.

Lecque’s menacing abuse of the rim has been a joy to watch, but it wasn’t quite as evident just a few months ago though, when he suffered a possible career slowing injury to his knee. After rejoining his Scanlan high school team a month into the season, he was able to pick up where he left off, as his reputation as a slasher and scorer grew around the city. The duo of Lecque and fellow Scanlan guard Saquan Singleton was a nightmare for CHSAA players all season. He’s proven he is a lot more than just a dunker too, as evidenced by his toe to toe wars with elite guards such as St Ray’s Isaiah Washington, which ended with a Lecque game winner from three.

While he’s found success in the city, Lecque recently made the decision to transfer out of Scanlan and hone his talents out of state. His move to the Southern Stampede squad has already paid dividends to his game and recruitment as high major programs have began to knock on the door for his services. The rowdy NYC crowds will definitely miss Lecque and the excitement he brought to the city, but with his name now blowing up on a national level, they’ll have to understand. With all the poor kids jumping with him and ending up on mixtapes, it won’t be too hard to keep tabs on him either.
