M-Town’s favorite girl is keepin it 100
Kirbi Bourage’s personality and overall vibe can be summed up by the five words on her Instagram bio: “You can be yourself here.” In a generation filled with false personas driven by social media, Bourage is the rare public figure who presents an unflinching version of her self to the world, complete with all her flaws and beauty. “I’ve accomplished so much, but what really drives me is knowing i’m being who i am the entire time,” She says. “I’m not pretending to be someone I hope to be or someone other people want me to be. I express myself for who I am. Nothing more, nothing less.” Who she is, is a model and popular YouTube and social media figure from Memphis, Tennessee.
“I’ve accomplished so much, but what really drives me is knowing i’m being who i am the entire time.”
Kirbi is quick to credit the city of Memphis for making her the creative she is today. “Being from memphis definitely influenced my creative pursuits because there’s so much variety,” She says. So many different types of people with different stories to tell. The energy in Memphis is great you just have to feel it.” That energy radiates through Kirbi, particularly through her brightly colored, short cropped hair, which is often the subject of her YouTube videos.
“There’s so much i’m great at but none of it matters if i don’t push myself to go out & actually do what i’m capable of”
She hopes this sense of confidence will catch on with her followers, many of whom often approach her, seeking advice. While Kirbi is willing to assist when needed, she also acknowledges the fact that she herself is flawed. One of the main obstacles she wrestles with is the motivation to step outside of her comfort zone, and into uncharted territories. “There’s so much i’m great at but none of it matters if I don’t push myself to go out & actually do what i’m capable of,” She says. “Talent is nothing without passion & willpower.” In the future, Kirbi may not know what’s in store but she hopes that she can continue to bolster her modeling resume and continue to expand the movement that she’s started. “My biggest goal is to transform my brand into something bigger than me,” She says. “I want to be an influence on everyone. We all coexist and we can all come together & do great things.”
